The BIM Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation, management, and continuous improvement of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across the firm. This role ensures the successful execution of BIM workflows to optimize coordination, accuracy, and efficiency in design and documentation. Working closely with project teams, the BIM Manager develops and maintains firm standards, supports project setup and model management, administers BIM software and content libraries, and provides training and technical support to staff. The BIM Manager also evaluates new technologies and contributes to the ongoing enhancement of digital design workflows.

This position is available in several office locations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain firm-wide BIM standards, templates, workflows, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all projects.
  • Support project setup and kickoff by creating BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), configuring project environments, and ensuring projects are established in accordance with firm standards.
  • Manage and maintain BIM software and digital tools, including Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, AutoCAD, Enscape, Twinmotion, and related applications.
  • Create, organize, and maintain Revit families, templates, and digital content libraries to support efficient project delivery and standardized documentation.
  • Provide technical support and training to project teams by troubleshooting BIM-related issues, developing training resources, and promoting best practices.
  • Monitor project models and file management to ensure compliance with BIM standards, proper organization, and accurate model coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with project teams, consultants, and IT to support BIM implementation, software updates, system integrations, and technology improvements.
  • Evaluate and test new software, hardware, and digital technologies to improve workflows, efficiency, and project delivery.
  • Document and communicate BIM standards and procedures by maintaining user guides, knowledge resources, and process documentation to support consistent implementation across the firm.
  • Research emerging BIM technologies and industry trends and recommend process improvements that enhance design quality, collaboration, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Five to ten years of professional experience in architecture, engineering, construction, or a related field utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM). (required)
  • Licensed Architect (preferred)
  • Experience working with DOD and Healthcare studios (preferred)
  • Strong proficiency with Autodesk Revit and other BIM-related software.
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, AutoCAD, and related digital design technologies.
  • Experience developing BIM standards, templates, content libraries, and workflows.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to support multiple projects and users simultaneously.
  • Ability to train and mentor staff while promoting consistent BIM standards and best practices.
