Job description

Position Summary

The BIM / VDC Coordinator supports project teams by developing, managing, and coordinating Building Information Models to improve constructability, coordination, and project delivery. This role works closely with BIM Managers, project managers, superintendents, engineers, and trade partners to ensure accurate models, clash detection, and clear visual communication throughout the project lifecycle.

This is a hands-on role focused on model production, coordination, and execution, not just theory.

Key Responsibilities

BIM & Model Management

· Develop, maintain, and update BIM models in Revit (and related tools) based on project requirements

· Ensure models comply with company BIM standards, project BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and client requirements

· Maintain model accuracy, organization, and version control throughout the project

Coordination & Clash Detection

· Run and manage clash detection using Navisworks (or similar tools)

· Prepare and lead coordination meetings with internal teams and trade partners

· Track, document, and follow up on clash resolution and design issues

VDC Support

· Support construction planning using models for:

o Fabrication construction

o Site logistics

o Phasing and sequencing

· Assist with model-based quantity takeoffs and visualizations as needed

Project & Team Collaboration

· Coordinate with project managers, engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors

· Assist in onboarding trade partners into the BIM coordination process

· Communicate model issues clearly and proactively

Documentation & Deliverables

· Produce BIM deliverables including:

o Federated models

o Coordination reports

o View sets and construction visuals

· Maintain organized BIM project folders and documentation

Required Qualifications

· Experience in BIM / VDC on commercial or industrial construction projects

· High proficiency in:

o Revit

o Navisworks Manage

· Solid understanding of construction means, methods, and sequencing

· Experience with clash detection and coordination workflows

· Ability to read and understand construction documents (architectural, structural, MEP)

· Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience working on large commercial, healthcare, industrial, or data center projects

· Familiarity with:

o Autodesk Construction Cloud

o Bluebeam

o Modeling software

o Microsoft Office

o Tekla Structures

o Laser scanning processing

· Understanding of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and LOD requirements

· Field experience or regular interaction with jobsite teams
