Job description

Comfab Aluminum, part of the Toro Group of Companies, is a leading supplier of aluminum and curtain wall systems, specializing in the manufacturing of stick curtain walls, interior screens, canopies, and skylights. We take pride in our highly skilled BIM team and a collaborative culture that fosters excellence, innovation, and continuous professional development.


Comfab Aluminum is growing its BIM team and is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated BIM Specialist to join us. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about BIM development and modeling and are looking to contribute to high-quality commercial projects.


You will play a key role in producing accurate shop drawings, material take-offs (MTOs), and fabrication drawings for commercial curtain wall systems using Revit. You will collaborate with internal teams to ensure designs are precise, efficient, and aligned with project requirements.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Create highly detailed curtain wall Revit models, families, schedules, and sheets, maintaining the highest QC standards.

· Assists in Revit projects setup.

· Prepare shop drawings, material take-offs and fabrication releases for curtain wall projects using AutoCAD and Revit, from architectural and structural drawings.

· Conduct internal review of shop drawings and fabrication releases with senior members of the department and ensure constructability.

· Modify and revise designs and drawings to correct deficiencies or incorporate instructions.

· Translate the information received from site to shop drawings and fabrication drawings.

· Consistently check the work for accuracy, both own work and other team members.

· Participate in converting existing company standards and details to Revit.

· Assists in maintaining family libraries and their revision log.

· Participate in maintaining CAD/BIM standards and guides.

· Participate in testing & deployment of company BIM R&D ventures.

· Other duties as required by the department.


QUALIFICATIONS: 

· A University Degree/Technology Diploma in Architecture, BIM, Engineering, Design, or similar.

· 2+ years of experience with Revit modeling, Revit families, and data management.

· 2-5 years of experience in drafting, Strong 2D AutoCAD skills

· Experience in Curtain Wall is a strong asset.

· Experience in Revit Dynamo is a strong asset.

· Experience in Bluebeam, BIM 360, Inventor is an asset.

· Detail oriented with high attention to details and work ownership.
