Position Description: Our Oakland office is currently seeking a creative Senior Structural BIM Specialist with a passion for structures, construction, and learning. Strong Revit modeling skills required! This position is responsible for delivering BIM projects to meet client requirements, project goals, and Degenkolb quality standards. We provide focused technical development within a highly supportive team environment.

Compensation: The pay rate for this position generally ranges between $99,000 and $120,000 per year. This range is a good faith estimate pursuant to pay transparency laws. Actual pay rates will be based on various factors, including company geographic differentials, education level, and candidate qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage 3D models in Revit to support design development for a variety of project types, including large-scale, highly complex projects
  • Leverage knowledge of typical building structure and construction to develop high quality construction documents from initial creation through construction administration.
  • Maintain efficient and well-organized BIM project folders.
  • Actively engage in resolving BIM planning and coordination issues to meet schedule and budget goals.
  • Meet with project teams weekly to share updates on project status.
  • Provide technical support for Revit and AutoCAD to engineers and other BIM staff.
  • Help develop and implement Revit standards and mentor staff on best practices.
  • Develop ways to improve modeling efficiency.
  • Identify, comprehend, and follow the BIM standards applicable to assigned projects when drafting and modeling.
  • Frequently review project modeling and drafting work to ensure accuracy and correct technique.
  • Assist in updating Degenkolb BIM User Guidelines.
  • Participate in the Degenkolb Technical Conference.

Requirements include:

  • 6+ years of Autodesk Revit 2023-2026 and related BIM software experience in a structures or related department.
  • Working knowledge of Forma (Autodesk Construction Cloud).
  • Experience with BIM model coordination software such as Navisworks and Revizto.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Studio sessions.
  • Experience using Revit add-ins and third-party software to increase workflow efficiency, such as Ideate Software, Dynamo, and pyRevit.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD in a structural engineering or architectural setting. Construction experience a plus.
  • Experience with large-scale healthcare, education, civic, science and technology, or industrial manufacturing buildings.
  • Experience in managing construction-document production from start to finish.
  • Ability to maximize modeling productivity and efficiency.
  • Ability to meet challenging project schedule deadlines.
  • Ability to learn and implement new internal technologies and workflows on large-scale, complex projects.
  • Close attention to detail and rigorous model discipline to accommodate high LOD requirements where they apply.
  • Ability to problem-solve complex and unique modeling and project management challenges in Revit, including developing custom families and parameters where needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with staff and clients in different geographic locations.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Associate’s degree or Revit Structure Certified Professional credential preferred.
