Flad is a national architectural firm with ten offices looking to hire a BIM Coordinator to work in our Madison, WI office. Flad is a team of creative, intelligent, energetic people who help our clients tackle the issues that change people's lives.
How will your days be spent
  • Work with project teams to provide BIM support including project model set up, file export, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with project team leadership to develop the project-specific BIM implementation plan.
  • Develop and maintain BIM content to ensure a healthy model with smooth operation.
  • Understand firm-wide BIM standards and guidelines. Ensure models follow all internal and client specific standards.
  • Perform periodic QA/QC audits of project files to ensure compliance with the agreed upon strategy, standards, and work processes.
  • Introduce new employees to BIM standards and educate staff through ongoing training sessions.
  • Participate in BIM team meetings to share knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned.
  • Identify ways to help staff become more efficient on projects through customization, scripting, and other automation.

What you bring to this role
Experience
  • Previous internship and/or relevant work experience in the architectural, engineering, or construction industry preferred.
  • Experience with model coordination and knowledge of general constructability preferred.
  • Availability during Flad's business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm is required. Must be able to work in the Madison office Tuesday through Thursday each week.

Software
  • Intermediate Revit knowledge, having recently used for at least two years in academic and/or professional settings required. Makes edits to and works within established templates, standards, etc. Beginning to understand how firm projects are initially set up and how families are created. Expert Revit knowledge preferred.
  • Experience using Revit for production of architectural documentation, including creation and setup of sheets to be plotted required.
  • In-depth working knowledge of current Revit versions with emphasis on project setup required.
  • Knowledge of SketchUp, Rhino, AutoCAD, Dynamo, Grasshopper, and Navisworks preferred.

Education
  • Two-year technical degree in architecture or related field required.
