Job description

Devine Millimet, one of the largest law firms in Northern New England, seeks a full time Billing Specialist to join their dynamic finance team in Manchester, NH. Devine MIllimet is a full-service law firm with more than thirty practice groups, focused on serving regional business clients with high-quality personalized service.
The Billing Specialist is responsible for a variety of tasks within the finance department, including but not limited to:
  • Preparing invoices for legal services to clients
  • Answering client inquiries on billings
  • Processing/posting client payments and preparing deposits and reports as requested
  • Processing/documenting of over-payments and write-offs
  • Processing of workflow opening matters & setting up billing profiles
  • Assisting in the setup of client billing records/opening clients & matters
  • Processing billing rate changes
  • Processing departing Attorney financial information
  • Offering excellent customer service internally to Attorneys and other employees
  • Ad hoc projects as requested
  • General and other office duties as requested

Requirements
  • Associates Degree in Finance/Accounting or at least 3 years of experience in detailed finance work
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to relay financial data to managers and clients
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to deal with difficult, sensitive, and confidential issues
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritizing abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Understanding of billing software and basic accounting concepts (knowledge of Rippe & Kingston, a/k/a Surepoint billing software is a plus)
  • Previous experience with law firm billing is preferred
