Job description

Responsible for managing the day-to-day operational activities required to assure a safe and effective patient-care environment in the Clinic; including sufficient staff coverage.  Manages and directs the responsibilities of the clerical staff, clinical staff and physicians’ schedules (at multi-locations) to ensure compliance with the clinic’s policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.  Prepares and manages budgets, product inventory, addresses complaints, accept deliveries and develops performance goals for staff.  Develops and assists with the implementation of the clinic’s marketing strategies, processes invoices and staff payroll/timekeeping.  Manages and sustains patient work flow schedules throughout the day.  May greet/welcome patients, schedule appointments, coordinate surgery schedules and accept patients’ payments.  Oversees and maintains knowledge of building maintenance and security.

Required Minimum Education:                   H.S. Diploma; College Degree Preferred; CMA Certification, desired

Required Minimum Experience:                 5 years medical experience; Ophthalmology preferred

A combination of experience, education, and/or training which substantially demonstrates the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Advance knowledge of HIPAA guidelines
  • Knowledge of diagnostic codes, billing codes and filing claims
  • Ability to manage and work with a Customer Service attitude and polite telephone etiquette
  • Proficient in MS(Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet); type at least 45 wpm accurately
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Able to lead and manage staff (co-workers)
  • Aptitude with mathematical functionality (budgets, ledgers, financial reporting)
  • Self-motivated, disciplined, driven, focused, observant
  • Proactive, take initiative, attention to details, a problem solver
