What is a billboard worker?

Billboard workers are professionals responsible for installing, maintaining, and sometimes designing outdoor advertising displays, commonly known as billboards. Their duties include safely mounting advertisements, changing posters or digital content, repairing structures, and ensuring billboards comply with safety regulations. They may work for outdoor advertising companies, sign installation firms, or as freelancers. Billboard workers often work at heights and must follow strict safety protocols. The job requires physical fitness, attention to detail, and sometimes knowledge of digital display technology.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a billboard installer?

These competencies ensure that installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards and regulations.

Billboard installers often encounter challenges such as working at heights, dealing with various weather conditions, and coordinating with tight installation schedules. Safety is paramount, so using proper harnesses, following strict protocols, and participating in regular safety training is essential. Additionally, effective communication with team members and project managers helps ensure that installations are completed accurately and on time. Staying organized and adaptable can help installers manage unexpected issues, such as last-minute design changes or equipment malfunctions.

At United Energy Workers Healthcare, our vision is to elevate the lives of energy workers with unwavering compassion and whole-person care. For more than 15 years, we have served uranium and energy workers across the United States by helping them access the care, support, and benefits they have earned. Our work is grounded in PEAK: Performance, Engagement, Accountability, and Knowledge. These values reflect our unwavering motto: Best Patient Care and Best Place to Work, and they guide how we honor each worker's service, protect their dignity, and improve their quality of life.

PEAK is our shared commitment to who we are at UEW. Performance means delivering results for energy workers with excellence, efficiency, and consistency. Engagement means building meaningful connections with colleagues, patients, partners, families, and communities. Accountability means taking ownership of our actions, decisions, and follow-through. Knowledge means continuously improving, embracing technology, and sharing expertise so we can serve energy workers better.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Regional Marketing & Events leads the planning, coordination, and execution of traditional, non-digital marketing activities across UEW's regional markets. Although this is a national role, the position works at the regional and local level with Regional Directors, Outreach Benefits Advisors, Operations, and local office teams to ensure events, sponsorships, local advertising, mailers, media placements, billboards, office signage, and other market-specific initiatives are planned and executed effectively. This role brings PEAK to life through high-quality execution, strong cross-functional engagement, disciplined ownership of budgets and timelines, and informed recommendations tailored to each market.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Partner with Regional Directors, Outreach Benefits Advisors, and local office teams to develop market-specific plans that support awareness, engagement, referrals, and growth.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of regional events across UEW markets, including resource fairs, community events, educational programs, lunch and learns, open houses, and other market-specific activities.
  • Own event logistics from planning through follow-up, including venues, food and beverage, audiovisual needs, presentations, displays, signage, promotional materials, staffing, vendor coordination, attendee experience, and post-event review.
  • Create repeatable event standards, checklists, timelines, and playbooks that help local teams execute consistently while tailoring each activity to market needs.
  • Coordinate local event champions, volunteers, vendors, and partners to extend marketing execution and allow Growth team members to stay focused on relationship-building and growth.
  • Evaluate, coordinate, and activate local sponsorship opportunities, ensuring UEW invests in the right community opportunities and fully receives the agreed-upon visibility, placement, and engagement benefits.
  • Coordinate traditional local advertising, including newspaper, television, radio, community publications, billboards, outdoor advertising, and other non-digital media in partnership with corporate Marketing.
  • Oversee the deployment of market-specific mailers, event invitations, educational materials, office signage, and community outreach collateral with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Coordinate local media opportunities and relationships that increase awareness of UEW, its services, and its commitment to energy workers and their communities.
  • Manage assigned budgets, quotes, agreements, invoices, timelines, approvals, and documentation with disciplined accountability.
  • Maintain a coordinated calendar of regional events, sponsorships, advertising deployments, mail campaigns, signage projects, and other local marketing initiatives to improve visibility, prioritization, and execution across markets.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of events and local marketing investments, capture outcomes and lessons learned, and recommend adjustments based on market response and organizational priorities.
  • Ensure local initiatives align with UEW's mission, company standards, approved messaging, and corporate Marketing direction without positioning this role as the owner of overall brand strategy.
  • Provide clear, timely updates and reporting to Marketing, Growth, and Operations stakeholders, including reporting up to the VP of Marketing, CRO, and CEO regarding plans, risks, decisions, budgets, timelines, and results.
  • Travel to UEW markets as needed to support planning, execution, vendor relationships, market reviews, and high-priority events.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.

At United Energy Workers Healthcare, we believe in taking care of the people who care for others. That's why we offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees designed to support your well-being, growth, and sense of purpose. Our benefits include:

  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance to help you maintain your health and wellness.

  • 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match to support your long-term financial goals.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and Holiday Pay to ensure a healthy work-life balance.

  • Disability Insurance and Life Insurance Options for added peace of mind.

  • Health Savings Account (HSA) and Dependent Care Spending Account (DCSA) for tax-advantaged savings.

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offering confidential resources for life's challenges.

  • Sunshine Fund for peer-supported financial assistance during unexpected hardships.

  • Internal Referral Bonuses to reward you for helping us grow our team.

  • Supportive and Inclusive Culture that fosters teamwork, respect, and belonging.

  • Mission-Centered Work that directly impacts the lives of former energy workers.

  • Opportunities for Growth and Development, including internal mobility and training.

  • Recognition Programs to celebrate your hard work and commitment.

We are proud to provide a workplace where compassion meets career - and where every employee plays a meaningful role in our mission.
