Public Strategies Overview

Public Strategies (PS) is a nationally respected consulting, project management, and marketing firm based in Oklahoma City. We provide innovative solutions for federal, state, and local clients, including project and program management, training and technical assistance, technology, event management, research and evaluation, video production, and strategic communications. We also deliver research-informed direct services to financially vulnerable Oklahomans, with a focus on strengthening families and improving employment opportunities.

Position Summary

The Bilingual Host plays a role in the success of participants and families by providing support for the Family Expectations (FE) and TRUE Dads programs through hospitality and customer service, serving meals and snacks before and during workshops, assisting with general cleaning and organization, and participating as a Communication Coach with participants during communication skills practice sessions.

This is a part-time position, with services delivered during evening hours and on weekends, with additional training and preparation required on an as needed basis.

Essential Job Functions

  • Greet couples, and serve as a friendly face for program participants
  • Participate in Communication Coaching sessions and ensure couples are building competency in the skills taught in the curriculum through good coaching
  • Interact and engage with couples before class and during breaks
  • Help serve meals, snacks, and beverages
  • Clean the workshop areas, dining area, and kitchen
  • Ensure all equipment and utensils are put away
  • Restock and inventory refreshments and supplies
  • Attend the classes to assist Educators, as needed
  • Report any discrepancies to the Education Services Specialist and Workshop Content and Facilitation Manager
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Training

  • High School diploma or equivalent, preferred

Experience

  • Prior experience providing skills coaching a plus
  • Prior experience working in customer service or hospitality a plus

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Must be fluent in spoken/written English and Spanish
  • Ability to work evenings and Saturdays
