General Description

The Bilingual Sales Representative is responsible for promoting the Carlton Farms brand through positive interactions with current and prospective customers, including English- and Spanish-speaking customers. This position requires fluency in both English and Spanish to effectively serve and grow Carlton Farms' bilingual customer base.


Job Duties

  • Help customers find solutions for the products they wish to order, in terms of both timely delivery and desired product.
  • Identify new customer opportunities, present them to the sales manager, and continually grow the business whenever possible.
  • Adhere to pricing from weekly price sheets provided by the sales manager unless otherwise approved. Any exception pricing provided to customers must be agreed upon with the sales manager.
  • Maximize product value by selling the best possible margin product as directed by the sales manager, offering the 2nd or 3rd best option as needed and approved.
  • Make all sales calls to customers in a timely manner.
  • Submit sales orders as they are taken, and reinforce with customers the need to place orders in time to meet the required 3:00 pm cutoff.
  • Make every effort to sell customers something on each call — do not let a customer end a call without ordering.
  • Determine when an in-person visit will improve the customer relationship and communicate that need to the sales manager for discussion.
  • Provide bilingual (English/Spanish) communication support to customers, prospects, and internal teams as needed to ensure clear, accurate service.
Requirements:

Requirements/ Skills

  • Bilingual required — fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken and written).
  • 5+ years in a manufacturing or food industry sales position preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and willing to put in the time needed to meet deadlines.


Technology, Equipment, Certifications (i.e. 10-key, phone, chopper)

  • Strong computer skills required. (Microsoft Office Suite experience required (Word, Excel).
  • Google Suite experience preferred.
  • Salesforce experience preferred.
  • 10-key, phone, and fax proficiency.


Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions

  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods while using a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and transport work-related materials that may occasionally weigh up to 25 lbs.
