We are looking for a Big Data Engineer to significantly contribute to identifying best-fit architectural solutions for one or more projects. You will collaborate with some of the best talent in the industry to create and implement innovative high-quality solutions focused on our customers' business needs. You will design and plan technology solutions, alongside providing leadership and support to development teams. You will excel at driving business value through technology and addressing technical issues and concerns.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and build a multi-national, highly scalable data processing platform for our global consumer properties using Google Cloud Platform
• Participate in the development of strategies, standards, and best practices in the areas of data access, storage and integration within GCP.
• Provide leadership and guidance to engineers on designing high performance solutions within a cloud platform.
• Collaborate with Technology, Security, Data Governance, and IT Operations to facilitate and accelerate the movement of key GCS data assets to GCP.
• You can work within pressurized environments whilst making critical decisions
• You understand various aspects of architecture practices: business, application, data, security, infrastructure and governance.
• Successfully work with Data Architects to define technical architecture for products.
Qualifications:
• BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related Field or equivalent job experience.
• 6+ years IT experience.
• 3+ years' experience in virtualized or public cloud platforms, ideally Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.
Work Experience:
• Demonstrated experience designing and building Big Data cloud solutions in higher languages such as python/Java.
• Experience working with Enterprise Data Hub projects/implementations.
• Experience with Hadoop/Spark.
• Experience in a financial company or other regulated entity managing sensitive and confidential information
• Expertise working with different architecture and design patterns and tools.
• Experience working with Solution and Data Architects.
• Knowledge of data cleaning, wrangling, visualization and reporting, with an understanding of the best, most efficient use of associated tools and applications to complete these tasks.
• Proven ability to lead through data centric project
• Advise Software Developers on design and development of features and components with a deep understanding of the business problem being addressed for the client
• Perform defect RCA and mitigation
• Contribute to creation of design (HLD LLD SAD)/architecture for Applications/Features/Business Components/Data Model
