Job description

Manufacturing Intern:
  • Position Summary:
    • The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will support the Manufacturing Engineering team in developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing processes across multiple product lines, including GDI, Tubing, Fan, Fan Drive, and ECFD. This role provides hands-on exposure to production environments, engineering problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives while working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Duties amp; Responsibilities:
    • Assist in developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods by applying engineering fundamentals related to product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, and production equipment.
    • Support engineering activities related to the design, modification, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical and electronic production equipment.
    • Observe and analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for quality, safety, and efficiency improvements.
    • Assist with data collection, analysis, and documentation related to production methods, cycle times, downtime, and process capability.
    • Help troubleshoot production and equipment issues under the guidance of senior engineers and contribute to corrective action efforts.
    • Participate in root cause analysis activities and continuous improvement projects.
    • Provide engineering support to maintenance, quality, production control, and project teams as needed.
    • Assist in creating and updating work instructions, standard operating procedures, and engineering documentation.
    • Follow company safety, health, and operational policies at all times.
    • Maintain organization and cleanliness of work areas in accordance with 4S principles.
    • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Qualifications:
    • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
    • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical systems, and engineering principles.
    • Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and technical documentation (training provided as needed).
    • Familiarity with hand tools, measurement tools, or fabrication techniques is a plus.
    • Exposure to AutoCAD, Inventor, or other CAD software preferred.
    • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and work in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
