Job description

Special Education Bus Driver
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Route Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting passengers along designated routes while providing excellent customer service. This role requires strong communication skills, some mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work with diverse populations, including children and individuals with special needs.
Duties
  • Safely operate a vehicle along assigned routes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Assist passengers, including children and those with disabilities, during boarding and disembarking.
  • Maintain accurate records of passenger counts, mileage, and any incidents that occur during the route.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding route changes or passenger needs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all passengers, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience in school bus driving preferred, but not necessary.
  • Basic mechanical understanding to perform pre-trip inspections.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English; multilingual skills are a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
