York's complete Space Segment Solution includes spacecraft production, payload integration, system integration & test, launch services, ground segment services, and mission operations, enabling customers to leverage York's existing technology solutions to get to orbit rapidly and responsively. We're looking to expand our team across the board.
York Space Systems (York) is seeking an experienced Capture Manager II to lead the pursuit and capture of Government contracting opportunities within the Space Capabilities portfolio. This role owns the full capture lifecycle from opportunity identification and qualification through Black Hat review, proposal handoff, and post-submission down-select activities. The successful candidate will bring deep knowledge of the Aerospace & Defense space market, the National Security Space and Intelligence Community customer base, and a proven ability to build win strategies that integrate technical, contracts, legal, finance, supply chain, and customer engagement inputs into a cohesive capture plan. This position requires active TS/SCI clearance.
This role will be fully on-site in our Greenwood Village, Colorado office.
Key Responsibilities
Capture Leadership
  • Lead capture efforts for opportunities from identification through contract award, owning the capture plan, win strategy, and win assessments throughout the Capture Lifecycle.
  • Develop and continuously refine competitive win strategies, price-to-win insights, and discriminators based on customer hot buttons and mission priorities.
  • Plan, facilitate, and lead Black Hat sessions - including competitor analysis, red team integration, and counter-strategy development - to stress-test win themes and pricing assumptions.
  • Own the transition of capture plans into proposal strategy, ensuring seamless handoff to Proposal Management and Solution Architects at RFP release.
  • Manage capture budgets, bid/no-bid recommendations, and gate review packages presented to executive leadership.
  • Work experience capturing commercial and international satellite business opportunities, adapting capture strategies to commercial procurement processes, export control (ITAR/EAR) considerations, and international partner/customer engagement models.

Customer & Market Engagement
  • Support BD team to build and maintain relationships with Government customers, program offices, and mission partners across the Space Force, IC, NASA, and broader DoW Community as applicable.
  • Collaborate to identify key decision-makers, build call plans, support messaging for industry days, conferences, and customer forum. Attend to enhance customer and market intel related to procurements.
  • Structuring procurement strategy responding to customer market surveys, RFIs, and sources sought. Evaluate contract types that are most beneficial to company and customer.
  • Gather and synthesize competitive intelligence, teaming intelligence, and market trends specific to space-based capabilities (ISR, SATCOM, PNT, launch, space domain awareness, etc.).

Cross-Functional Integration
  • Partner with Contracts & Legal to structure teaming agreements, NDAs, and contract vehicles, and to ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS and applicable acquisition regulations. Coordinate to ensure compliance with OCI and FOCI requirements, data rights and intellectual property assertion to protect proprietary data.
  • Work with Finance to develop cost models driven by PTW analysis, cost volume and pricing strategy inputs, financial risk assessment, and business case justifications supporting bid decisions.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to identify, qualify, and negotiate with teammates, subcontractors, and suppliers critical to the space capability solution. Ensure Subcontractor agreements meets company requirements. Review vendor sourcing vetting, cybersecurity compliance, flow-down clauses, and PTW support.
  • Engage Engineering and Technical SMEs to ensure technical solutions align with customer requirements and win strategy. Lead Blue Team reviews evaluating the proposed technical solutions meet the customer's hot buttons, pain points, and mission requirements.
  • Brief senior leadership and gate review boards, translating cross-functional inputs into a unified capture narrative.

This role will not have direct reports.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Political Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of dedicated Capture Management experience within the Government contracting / Aerospace & Defense industry.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience capturing opportunities within the space market (e.g., satellite systems, launch, ground systems, space domain awareness, SATCOM, ISR, or related space capabilities).
  • Experience serving as Capture Lead on awarded programs exceeding $50M-$100M in total contract value.
  • Proven track record leading and facilitating Black Hat reviews and competitive assessments.
  • Working knowledge of Government contracting fundamentals, including FAR/DFARS, contract types (FFP, CPFF, CPIF, IDIQ, OTA), and acquisition lifecycle processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with Contracts, Legal, Finance, and Supply Chain organizations to build compliant, competitive capture plans.
  • Strong customer engagement and messaging skills, with experience shaping customer requirements pre-RFP.
  • Willingness to work full-time in our Greenwood Village, CO office; this position does not support remote or hybrid work.
