Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Epic BI Developer Cogito with strong hands-on experience in the Epic Cogito analytics ecosystem, including Clarity, Caboodle, Chronicles, Reporting Workbench, Radar, SlicerDicer, and Cogito SQL.

The consultant will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, maintaining, and optimizing healthcare reporting and analytics solutions using Epic data. The role will work closely with clinical, operational, revenue cycle, and IT stakeholders to translate business requirements into accurate and actionable BI solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Epic Cogito reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Develop reports, dashboards, metrics, extracts, and analytical content using:
    • Epic Reporting Workbench
    • Radar
    • SlicerDicer
    • Cogito SQL
    • Clarity
    • Caboodle
  • Develop and maintain reporting solutions using data from Epic Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle.
  • Write complex and optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and reporting logic.
  • Analyze Epic data models and identify appropriate tables, fields, relationships, and data sources for reporting requirements.
  • Develop custom SQL metrics and dashboards for clinical, operational, financial, and executive reporting.
  • Build and maintain Caboodle data warehouse content, including fact/dimension structures, extracts, and data models.
  • Support ETL/data integration processes between Epic Clarity, Caboodle, and external data sources.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Review and enhance existing Epic reports and analytics content.
  • Configure and test Epic Foundation and released content.
  • Maintain the Analytics Catalog, metadata, documentation, and reporting standards.
  • Work with business users and healthcare SMEs to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with Epic application analysts, DBAs, data architects, ETL developers, and BI teams.
  • Troubleshoot production reporting issues and provide ongoing application/BI support.
  • Participate in Epic upgrades and assess the impact of new Cogito/Clarity/Caboodle functionality.
  • Develop documentation for reports, dashboards, data models, technical specifications, and testing procedures.
  • Ensure data accuracy, security, integrity, and compliance with healthcare data governance requirements.
  • Mentor junior BI developers and provide technical guidance where required.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of BI/Data Analytics development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Epic Cogito.
  • Strong experience with Epic Clarity and Caboodle.
  • Strong knowledge of Epic data models and healthcare data structures.
  • Advanced SQL / T-SQL skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Reporting Workbench, Radar, and SlicerDicer.
  • Experience developing Epic reports, dashboards, metrics, and extracts.
  • Experience with data warehousing, ETL, dimensional modeling, fact/dimension tables, and data integration.
  • Ability to analyze complex healthcare datasets and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience with Epic Cogito Tools Administration.
  • Epic Clarity Data Model Certification.
  • Epic Caboodle Data Model Certification.
  • Epic Cogito Certification.
