We are seeking an experienced and highly organized SAP Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of SAP implementation, upgrade, and support projects. The ideal candidate will combine deep SAP program and project management expertise with hands-on proficiency in JIRA, including agile project tracking, sprint planning, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration. This role requires someone who can operate effectively at the intersection of structured SAP methodologies and agile delivery practices while ensuring transparency, accountability, and on-time delivery across all workstreams.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the System of Governance by helping define and implement a large-scale SAP S/4HANA I-ERP program.
  • Lead tactical activities and support overall strategic program objectives.
  • Manage epics, sub-epics, and features for the Product Group in JIRA.
  • Continuously assess issues, risks, and opportunities and assist with resolution.
  • Track scope changes and manage change-control processes to prevent scope creep.
  • Manage the program-level CRAID log, including:
    • Change Requests
    • Risks
    • Assumptions
    • Issues
    • Decisions
  • Support the collection and review of metrics for major releases and production releases, including Release on Demand and problem incidents.
  • Support the System of Delivery quarterly Program Increment (PI) planning process and facilitate related events, including:
    • Logistics
    • Breakout sessions
    • Presentations
    • Workshops
  • Support and manage integration points between ERP modules and legacy or third-party systems.
  • Prepare Product Teams for PI planning events.
  • Consolidate Product Line iteration reviews into Product Group iteration reviews and retrospectives.
  • Coordinate Product Team activities and ensure progress remains aligned with scope, timelines, and release-management objectives.
  • Support Foundational Product Teams by coordinating release activities, including:
    • Cutover
    • Testing cycles
    • Training programs
    • Data readiness
  • Coordinate with Product Managers to resolve PDO and Foundational-related dependencies.
  • Remove blockers and impediments by ensuring teams bring issues to the appropriate governance forums.
  • Facilitate lessons-learned sessions and support transition to steady-state operations.
  • Lead the end-to-end management of SAP projects, including:
    • Implementations
    • Upgrades
    • Rollouts
    • Support enhancements
    • S/4HANA migrations
    • Module deployments, including FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, and HCM
    • Integration initiatives
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, resource allocations, budgets, and risk registers.
  • Own and administer JIRA boards for project activities, including:
    • Creating epics, user stories, tasks, and subtasks
    • Managing backlogs
    • Configuring workflows
    • Creating dashboards
    • Managing custom fields
    • Supporting SAP project-specific reporting needs
  • Manage project governance activities, including:
    • Status reporting
    • Steering committee updates
    • RAID logs
    • Change-management processes
  • Drive continuous improvement of project-management practices, JIRA usage standards, and reporting templates across the SAP team.

Experience Requirements

  • 6 years of experience in IT, 3+ years of experience in Program Management
  • At least 3 years of experience managing SAP projects in a project-management capacity, including implementation, upgrade, or support projects.
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or SAFe certification.
  • SAP Activate certification or SAP certification in a relevant module.
  • Experience with:
    • Power BI
    • Power Automate
    • JIRA Align
    • JIRA Service Management
    • Confluence
    • Other Atlassian suite tools
  • Demonstrated expert-level, daily hands-on experience with JIRA, including:
    • Board configuration
    • Workflow automation
    • JQL queries
    • Dashboard creation
    • Confluence integration
  • Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum and Waterfall or hybrid project-delivery frameworks.
  • Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with IT service-management and change-management tools, including ServiceNow.
  • Detail-oriented, with a passion for clean, well-organized JIRA boards and traceable project artifacts.
  • Data-driven decision-maker who uses JIRA reporting to communicate project status objectively.
  • Strong servant-leadership mindset with the ability to motivate cross-functional, matrixed teams.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced and evolving enterprise environments.
