Their job is to use their data analysis skills and technical experience to develop solutions to problems, create technical reports, and make recommendations. By creating a data model or using other analytical tools, these developers can help increase productivity, provide improvements, or cut costs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a BI developer?

To thrive as a BI Developer, you need expertise in data modeling, SQL, and data warehousing concepts, often supported by a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field. Proficiency with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS, as well as experience with ETL processes and possibly certifications like Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, is highly valuable. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for translating business needs into actionable insights.
