BIICS, Inc is looking to fill a PowerBI Data Warehouse Analyst position. The position is located in Tallahassee, Floridaand work is onsite.

Power BI Data Warehouse Analyst

TheData Warehouse Analyst / Report Builder will developandoptimizePower BI semantic models, dashboards, and analyticalreports integrated with Snowflake. Services include creating advanced DAXcalculations, writingand tuning complex SQL queries, and ensuringSnowflake datasets are modeled and structured for reliable Power BIconsumption. The resource will work with data engineers to support dimensionalmodeling,maintainmetadata and data lineage documentation, and ensureaccurate,high-performance reporting. The Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders totranslate business needs into actionable reports, troubleshoot performanceissues across Power BI and Snowflake, andoperateeffectively in adynamic environment with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities:

Theactivities the candidates will be tasked with include, but are not limited to,the following:

  • Designand developPower BI dataflows and semantic models using dimensional modelingpractices.
  • Buildadvanced DAXmeasures and analytical logic to support enterprise-grade end-userreporting.
  • Createuser-friendly,high-performance Power BI reports and dashboards that meet defined businessrequirements.
  • Write andoptimizecomplex SQL queries (CTEs, window functions, analytical queries)to retrieve and prepare Snowflake data for reporting.
  • CollaboratewithSnowflake data engineering teams to ensure fact/dimension tables are structuredandoptimizedfor Power BI consumption.
  • IntegratePower BIwith Snowflake usingappropriate connectionmodes, ensuringperformance, query folding, and data reliability.
  • Documentdatalineage, metadata, and report specifications to support maintainability,governance, and transparency across analytics assets.
Requirements

Potential candidate must possess the following:

  • Requiredminimum of 5years of IT work experience in business intelligence tools and systems.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 yearsof hands-on experience developing enterprise-level analyticalreports,dashboards, and data models using Microsoft Power BI, includingadvanced report design, paginatedreports, performance tuning, andDAX.
  • Advanced SQL query writingincludes CTEs, window functions, and analytical queries withoptimization.
  • Strong understanding ofstar schema design and fact/dimension modeling.
  • Proficient in Snowflaketuning, clustering keys, compute optimization, and cost control.
  • Familiarity with SnowflakeRBAC, roles, warehouse sizing, and data governance.
  • Proficient in buildingPower BI semantic models with strong DAX and clean dimensional design.
  • Experience in integratingPower BI with Snowflake and connection modes.
  • Proficiencyin PowerBI Report Builder, workspace management, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with metadatamanagement, data lineage, and documentation.
  • Experience embedding Power BI reports into web orinternal applications.
  • Knowledgeof dimensional modeling and star schema design forsemantic model development.
  • Knowledgeof advanced Power BI capabilities including DAX,data modeling, and Power Query.
  • Knowledgeof Snowflake performance tuning, computeoptimization, and RBAC security concepts.
  • Skillin writing advanced SQL queries and tuning Snowflakedatasets for Power BI consumption.
  • Skillin creating high-performance Power BI reports withclean DAX logic and intuitive visual design.
  • Abilityto translate business requirements into structuredsemantic models and actionable reports.
  • Abilityto troubleshoot performance issues across DAX, SQL,and Snowflake compute layers.
  • Abilityto collaborate effectively with data engineers, SMEs,and stakeholders to deliver enterprise-ready reporting solutions.
Preferred: Knowledge of CI/CD forPower BI and version control is a plus.
