This role combines advanced Power BI development, data analysis, and hands-on experience working with Databricks, Python, SQL, and enterprise data platforms.
The ideal candidate can manage the full analytics lifecycle—from gathering business requirements and analyzing source data to transforming datasets, developing semantic models, and delivering intuitive dashboards. This individual will help modernize fragmented reporting environments, reduce reliance on spreadsheets and manual processes, and provide stakeholders with trusted insights for operational and strategic decision-making.
Success in this role requires someone who can bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams while taking ownership of data quality, reporting usability, and long-term scalability.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, Power BI development, or a related discipline.
Advanced hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, including:
Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
DAX and Power Query
Semantic modeling and dimensional data modeling
Row-level security and workspace management
Report performance optimization
Refresh scheduling and deployment
Strong hands-on experience with Databricks, including:
Databricks notebooks
Databricks SQL
Delta Lake or lakehouse architecture
Data transformation and preparation
Integration with Power BI
Strong Python experience for data analysis, transformation, validation, and automation.
Experience using pandas and/or PySpark to work with large and complex datasets.
Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, CTEs, aggregations, window functions, and query optimization.
Experience working with Snowflake, data lakes, cloud-based data platforms, or other enterprise data warehouses.
Experience integrating data from APIs, relational databases, enterprise applications, and flat-file sources.
Strong understanding of data modeling, data validation, KPI development, and reporting architecture.
Experience automating recurring reporting and data-preparation workflows.
Demonstrated ability to analyze data and communicate meaningful business insights.
Excellent stakeholder management, requirements-gathering, and presentation skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally with business, analytics, data engineering, and infrastructure teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst, Databricks, or related certifications.
Experience with Tableau, Grafana, or other data visualization platforms.
Experience with Azure data services, such as Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, or Microsoft Fabric.
Familiarity with CI/CD, version control, and deployment practices for Power BI and Databricks.
Experience modernizing large reporting environments and consolidating redundant dashboards.
Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and identity and access management.
Familiarity with machine learning, predictive analytics, or AI-enabled analytics capabilities.
Experience working in fast-paced enterprise, modernization, or digital-transformation environments.
