The Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the various after-school and summer program operational standards, organization policies, as well as various program-related grant requirements are achieved and maintained. The Compliance Specialist, in conjunction with the Area Directors and Site Directors, develops and implements operational systems that support timely and accurate assessment of child and family needs, effective communication between program staff, and full utilization of program services to meet specifications established by regulatory guidelines.

• Maintains program compliance with all funders.
• Trains and mentors Site Directors and other staff as needed.
• Develops and monitors Policies and Procedures for program operations.
• Provides system requirements for the development and maintenance of tools to document child education planning and observation data.
• Works with the Area Directors and Site Directors to monitor and maintain full enrollment, identify barriers to enrollment and retention, and implements successful interventions to address program attrition.
• Develops a system to accurately document and monitor all volunteer hours for all direct sites in partnership with the Volunteer Coordinator.
• Aggregates and analyzes reports related to program operations and child impact assessment.
• Monitors gaps in student achievement and develops systems for ensuring high student achievement.
• Ensures that classrooms and playgrounds are safe, clean, and well-equipped at direct sites.
• Monitors daily operation at sites, including, but not limited to educational programming, family engagement, and compliance with grant, regulatory, and other various standards.
• Works in partnership with Area Directors to secure appropriate resources for staff, parents, and children to include supplies, equipment, and training materials.
• Reads and reviews Letters of Agreement (LOA), policies, legislation, and other resources to keep abreast of current issues, expectations, and trends related to the responsibilities of the job.
• Participates in continuing professional development as part of the commitment to excellence.
• Ensures strict child and family confidentiality.
• This job includes the normal physical demands associated with office work including bending, lifting, and carrying.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening annually.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal daily guidance.
• Knowledge of community resources.
• Successful experience working in a team setting.
• Ability to present a positive image of the organization to members of the community.
• This position may include the need to attend weekend or evening meetings or trainings and might involve travel.
• Periodic travel to and from various Club sites and other work-related matters.
• Serves as a collaborative liaison between select funding partners, BGCA, select committees of our Board of Directors, various community and school partners, etc., to ensure a supportive, high quality practice through procedure development, monitoring, and program support.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred (Bachelor of Arts preferred).
• A minimum of three years’ work experience in non-profit agency operations, specifically in youth services/development or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures and of the principles and practices of non-profit organizations, youth development services preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club staff, Board members, volunteers, community groups, and other related agencies.
• Strong grant research and grant writing skills.
• Knowledge of maintaining program management, including program planning, operations, and evaluations, as well as the use of management information systems.
• Knowledge and experience working with primary program funders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and fiscal software.
