Job description

We are currently looking for a Full Time Child Development Center Assistant Manager to join our Child Development Center Ardmore team located at the Chickasaw Nation Child Development Center - Ardmore working 7:15AM - 4:15PM Mo Tu We Th Fr.
Summary:
Assists with the administration of programs and services to provide quality child development to families and children and performs related work as required.
Responsibilities:
  • Assists in the daily operations of the child development center
  • May be required to act as Manager on Duty in the absence of the manager to ensure all operational standards are maintained
  • Participates in the development and revision of child development policies, standard operating procedures and manuals
  • Assists in the monitoring of facility safety and cleanliness to meet and exceed tribal and federal standards
  • Assist in the oversight of the facilities to meet and exceed all licensing and accreditation standards
  • Reviews applications for enrollment and contacts parents/guardians regarding the application or enrollment process
  • Oversees enrollment orientation of new children and parents at the center and transition of existing children to new classrooms
  • Ensures a stimulating, safe and age-appropriate environment for children served
  • Assists with classroom staffing to meet or exceed tribal regulations and ratios
  • Supervises the execution of appropriate curriculum of all age groups
  • Provides classroom teachers with curriculum materials to carry out day-to-day activities
  • Acquires resources, materials and equipment necessary for safe program operations and maintains accurate inventory procedures
  • Evaluates child portfolios and compliance with developmental meetings with parents
  • Coordinates meetings with families as needed to ensure quality of care provided and recommends programs and services to assist with additional needs
  • Assists with the development of effective communication among staff, employees, and parents/guardians
  • Assists in the planning of program engagement activities for families and staff
  • Assists in the interview, selecting and submission of teaching and support applicants for hire
  • Assists in the guidance and / or completes onboarding of new staff
  • Administers regular staff meetings, conferences, and parent engagement opportunities
  • Performs staff annual evaluations
  • Conducts progressive corrective action of staff assigned
  • Approves time off requests and ensures appropriate staffing
  • Maintains files, logs, and records
  • Monitors and improves work performance of assigned teams as a whole and as individuals
  • Serve as a member of the leadership team, providing input on overall strategic direction of the institution and serves on various committees
  • Ensures all outcomes and deliverables meet organizational goals, objectives, and quality standards
  • Maintains knowledge of and enforce all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, e.g. Oklahoma Early Learning Guidelines, Oklahoma Core Competencies, monitoring compliance, accounting principles, etc.
  • Treats all applicants and co-workers with dignity and respect
  • Obtain 40 hours of early childhood training annually
  • Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency
  • Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities
  • Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types
