Job description

Best Western Plus Oak Harbor Hotel & Conference Center & Candlewood Suites WA is looking for a Sales/Events Coordinator to join our award-winning strong team!

FULL TIME POSITION (occasional weekends & evenings)

Responsibilities Sales/Events Coordinator

  • Overseeing the planning, organization, and execution of events such as meetings, conferences, weddings, and conventions
  • Helping clients plan and execute events, including meetings, conferences, and social gatherings, ensuring all details are meticulously managed
  • Coordinating with vendors for services such as catering, decorations, and audio-visual equipment
  • Preparing budgets, monitoring expenses, and ensuring events stay within budget
  • Managing event staff, including cleaning and catering crews
  • Problem Solving, addressing any issues that arise during events to ensure seamless experience
  • Identifying and securing business from corporate clients, travel agencies, local corporate accounts and request for proposals from outside the local area
  • Engaging with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored information about hotel offerings, including room rates, amenities, and event spaces
  • Creating and distributing sales proposals, contracts, and event orders
  • Analyzing market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for increasing sales and improving service offerings
  • Managing schedules, processing contracts and invoices
  • Biweekly sales calls with the Franchise Revenue for Manger (RMH) to assess rates and potential business opportunities
  • Generating weekly sales reports

Qualifications

  • Experience working in Hotel Sales/Events REQURIED
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Strong ability to work with a team towards one goal
  • Strong Organizational abilities, able to multitask
  • Experienced in Microsoft Word, excel, power point and Opera, (Hotel Property Management System)

Education

  • High School Diploma
  • AA/BA degree in Hospitality
