Building on the RS1 and GS0 launch systems, Long Wall develops containerized, mass-producible missile defense systems and offers rapid, low-cost flight testing. We believe that the future of global security and stability require defensive technology that is lower cost, higher performing, better tested, and more broadly distributed than is possible today. Join us.

What we look for
Mission-Driven Problem Solvers. The aerospace frontier demands ingenuity. We want Team members who approach challenges with curiosity, embrace failure as a learning opportunity, and stay focused on delivering the best solution for the mission.

Total Ownership. We seek staff and engineers who take full responsibility for contributing to and delivering flight-ready work while recognizing that no one succeeds alone. The best engineers, corporate professionals, and technicians make their teammates better. Knowing that complementary skills create force multiplication and drive mission success.

Director, Sites and Facilities

DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a Director of Sites and Facilities to lead the development and management of all Long Wall sites and facilities. The Director will oversee the build-out and operation of facilities across office, manufacturing, and test/launch sites, developing world-class facilities and maintaining high standards in safety, efficiency, and compliance, while ensuring excellent employee support. The ideal candidate is a strategic, hands-on leader who thrives in high-growth manufacturing/operations environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead Facilities, Security, and EHS teams to scale company infrastructure in support of multiple aerospace and defense programs
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Test/Launch leadership to ensure facilities capacity scales ahead of program needs
  • Develop a capital investment roadmap for facilities, infrastructure, and equipment  , including budgeting, forecasting, and executive reporting
  • Own construction projects end-to-end, including design, planning, permitting, construction, and vendor coordination to deliver on time, within budget, and to aerospace-grade standards
  • Oversee utilities and critical infrastructure systems (electrical, compressed air, network rooms, fire suppression, power redundancy) to ensure uptime, expansion planning, and reliability
  • Establish and maintain standardized facility design templates for new sites to accelerate future expansion and ensure consistency
  • Own permitting and regulatory approvals for specialized infrastructure at test/launch sites, including environmental permits and hazardous materials compliance
  • Manage the facilities operations team, setting clear goals, developing processes, and ensuring operational excellence
  • Lead physical security across all sites — access control, surveillance, perimeter security, incident response, and integration into new facility buildouts
  • Develop and oversee EHS/OSHA programs and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and internal safety standards
  • Enforce physical facilities, EHS, and security policies, audits, and compliance — including ITAR-related access controls — in partnership with Legal and local agencies
  • Oversee vendor and service provider contract negotiations and maintain full lease compliance, including HVAC servicing, fire safety testing, and adherence to permitted uses and building codes
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 8+ years of experience managing large‑scale facilities operations, preferably in aerospace, defense, high‑tech manufacturing, or similar environments.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing multi‑disciplinary facilities teams across operations, construction, EHS, and infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, permitting processes, lease compliance, and regulatory requirements (fire safety, HVAC, environmental, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience managing vendor relationships, service contracts, and competitive bidding processes.
  • Experience developing and maintaining EHS/OSHA programs, risk management systems, and emergency response plans.
  • Ability to implement data-driven facilities management practices focused on operational efficiency, cost control, and sustainability.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering, operations, manufacturing, and executive teams.
  • Must meet U.S. export control requirements and have the ability to obtain and/or maintain a U.S. security clearance.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Proven experience overseeing facility buildouts—including design, planning, permitting, construction, and vendor/contractor management—for office, manufacturing, and test/launch environments.
  • Experience overseeing facilities for rapidly scaling aerospace or defense organizations, particularly those with test, launch, or high‑hazard operations.
  • Background managing physical security systems such as access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, and secure‑facility protocols.
  • Experience planning and operating multi‑site facilities networks, including remote sites or outdoor industrial/test environments.
  • Experience with capital project planning, multi‑year facilities road mapping, and budgeting for large infrastructure programs.
  • Experience implementing CMMS or other facilities management software tools to improve visibility and operational discipline.
  • Knowledge of HVAC design, mechanical/electrical systems, utilities planning, and high‑reliability infrastructure.
  • Prior experience in high‑growth startup environments where speed, adaptability, and hands‑on execution are essential.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Can work in an indoor manufacturing environment 70%, outdoors 30%
  • Travel between our Port of Long Beach (70%), El Segundo (20%) and other facilities (10%) as required. Occasional travel to our other instate and out-of-state sites may be required
