Registered Nurse (RN)

Join our team at Alvarado Care Center, a 72-bed Sub-Acute Nursing Facility located in the heart of Los Angeles/Korea Town. We are dedicated to providing the best possible care to our residents, and we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team.

Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the overall supervision of nursing care in the facility during their shift. As a RN, you will provide direct, age-specific resident care, and coordinate the team approach to meet each resident's individual needs. You will also provide clinical leadership for other nursing staff and perform related duties as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Check daily staffing and assure staffing needs are addressed

  • Supervise and administer direct nursing care when more than routine care is indicated

  • Make rounds twice each shift to assure proper care and a safe, clean resident environment

  • Meet with new admissions to assure core needs are being met

  • Assure accuracy and completeness of medical records

  • Directs and coordinates the care of each resident to meet their overall individualized needs

  • Administers medications in a proficient manner

  • Provides care in emergency situations and follows established emergency procedures and practices

  • Identifies resident/family educational needs and initiates and provides individualized teaching

  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific care and communicates effectively in a clear, concise, and understandable manner

Requirements:

  • Current, valid Registered Nurse licensure to practice in the State of California

  • Current BCLS certification

  • At least six months prior RN experience in a general acute care hospital setting, or acquired equivalent competency appropriate to the type of sub-acute residents that the facility provides care to

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information, and to be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
