What is physical therapy and what does a physical therapist do?

Physical therapy is a healthcare profession focused on helping people improve their movement, manage pain, and recover from injuries or surgeries. Physical therapists assess each patient's condition and develop personalized treatment plans using exercises, manual therapy, and other techniques. Their goal is to restore function, prevent further injury, and improve the overall quality of life for their patients.

What are some common challenges physical therapists face when working with patients, and how can they be addressed?

Physical therapists often encounter challenges such as patients' lack of motivation, difficulty in patient adherence to treatment plans, and managing complex cases with multiple comorbidities. Building strong rapport, setting realistic goals, and maintaining clear communication are key strategies for overcoming these challenges. Additionally, collaborating closely with other healthcare professionals and regularly updating one’s skills can help address complex cases and improve patient outcomes. A supportive team environment also fosters better problem-solving and learning opportunities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a physical therapist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Physical Therapist, you need a deep understanding of human anatomy, movement science, and rehabilitation techniques, typically supported by a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree and state licensure. Familiarity with electronic health record systems and specialized therapy equipment is also important. Exceptional interpersonal skills, empathy, and strong problem-solving abilities help physical therapists motivate patients and tailor treatment plans. These skills are essential for delivering effective care, improving patient outcomes, and maintaining professional standards within healthcare environments.

Job description

It's time for A New Approach to Physical Therapy...Patient care focused on Health, Wellness, and Prevention!

Tired of seeing 70 - 80 people per week?

Do you not have time to treat each individual to the best of your ability because you have 2 - 3 patients at a time?

Are you suffering from Burnout?

Do you crave a culture that values you both professionally and personally?

BEST Physical Therapy is looking for a motivated individual seeking the next phase of their career. A unique opportunity to join a clinic and actually share in the profits. We believe that by collaborating with other provider specialties and providing services at a gym, the Physical Therapist can easily communicate with other health professionals to ensure everyone is on the same page to help the patient achieve their goals while continuing the activities they love.

We are a private, physical therapist owned company that treats patients on a 1 on 1 basis; we are also in-network with all insurances.

Don't be mislead by other companies; Sign-on bonuses are designed to lock you in — often for a reason. Many other workplaces struggle with turnover and burnout, lack of support, or growth leading to turnover. At BEST, we invest in you - instead of quick fixes: we provide mentorship, career development, a culture where PTs thrive, and a robust environment where you control your success.

Patient quality of care is our number concern. This is an opportunity for financial security and growth while also allowing for schedule flexibility, something you won't find in a regular job.

  • We provide 1-on-1 treatments focusing on outpatient musculoskeletal injuries and sports performance as well as Preventative Care and Maintenance.
  • We accept all insurances, but have a pay for service component as well.
  • This is a very active population, and the gym facilities are a very stimulating environment with state of the art equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
  • Deliver skilled manual therapy and therapeutic exercise interventions
  • Monitor and progress patients toward functional goals
  • Educate patients on injury prevention and long-term wellness
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary providers to optimize outcomes
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program
  • Active state licensure
  • Strong orthopedic and musculoskeletal clinical skills
  • Passion for performance, prevention, and wellness
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team-oriented mindset with growth ambition
  • Certifications such as dry needling, cupping, BFR, or other manual therapy specialties are a plus.

Benefits:

  • Health insurance available on start date of employment!
  • 401(k) with matching
  • Generous paid time off plus 6 major Holidays
  • Mental health days
  • Continuing education allowance and continuing education days
  • Student loan reimbursement
  • License reimbursement
  • Gym membership
  • Profit sharing of the clinic
  • Flexible schedule

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $103,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
