Your role:
In your role as a Data Scientist, you will use statistical techniques to plan tests and analyze and interpret data. Data Scientists are expected to use statistical techniques to help test teams make better decisions and improve their operations.
What you'll do all day:
  • BWork directly with test team and data engineers to develop tests and gather test insights using statistical methods and techniques.
  • Use data science tools to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
  • Responsible for planning tests to meet statistical requirements, developing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines for data, and performing statistical analysis of test data
  • Responsible for leading the development of statistically valid test procedures, data collection, and analysis efforts in support of Army modernization priorities to include rotary and fixed-wing flight test, distributed Live, Virtual, and Constructive testing, missile flight test, and sensor testing
  • May be required to attain a Class III flight physical to support experimental flight test in rotary wing and fixed wing flight test, as well as attain explosive handling certification in support of missile flight test requirements.

Minimum requirements for this position:
  • Minimum 4-year degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or similar field.
  • Deep knowledge of common programming languages (Python, R, Julia), data science packages and frameworks (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, tidyr, tidyverse).
  • Background working with common data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) and data visualization packages (Matplotlib, ggplot2, etc.)
  • Working Knowledge of data pipeline and ETL tools (Apache Airflow, Databricks, Apache NiFi, Azure Data Factory, etc.)
  • Understanding of statistics and probability (Probability distributions, Bayesian and frequentist statistics, etc.)
  • Knowledge of common data database technologies (SQL and NoSQL databases, data lakes, data mesh, and data fabric).
  • Ability to prepare, analyze, and effectively communicate the findings of data analysis to customers, RTC leadership, and outside stakeholders.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants)
