Job description

Where You Will Work 

Our office is located in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans, Louisiana. Employees in New Orleans mostly follow a hybrid schedule where they are required to work in office, attend in-person meetings or training and may also collaborate virtually. New Orleans is a popular tourist destination known for its rich history, architecture, cultural arts, music, and cuisine. Many great hotels, galleries, restaurants, and museums are a short walk from the office.    

What You Will Do

Responsible for delivering digital, data, and software solutions that support the successful execution of engineering capital projects. This role translates engineering and project delivery requirements into practical technology solutions, guiding technical implementation, validating deliverables, and ensuring solutions are reliable, scalable, user-friendly, and aligned with project objectives. Under the direction of the Project Solutions Manager, the position manages assigned solution workstreams, evaluates outputs against engineering and business requirements, and ensures delivered solutions effectively support decision-making, performance monitoring, and overall project outcomes.

  • Deliver and implement assigned software solutions that support engineering and EPC projects, ensuring alignment with project goals, business requirements, and operational objectives.
  • Coordinate and support software development initiatives involving data warehousing, data architecture, systems integration, reporting, analytics, and business intelligence solutions to enable effective data-driven decision-making.
  • Monitor and communicate project solution progress, including status, risks, issues, dependencies, and key decisions, while escalating concerns and facilitating the resolution of technical and functional challenges.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying and implementing enhancements that increase the effectiveness, efficiency, and value of software solutions and data management processes.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and optimization of data architecture and data warehousing solutions, applying established standards and best practices to ensure scalable, reliable, and high-performing data environments.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including engineering, project controls, procurement, contracts, and project management teams, to gather requirements, define solution designs, and establish project deliverables.
  • Act as a liaison between project teams and MIS partners, ensuring software applications, data systems, and reporting solutions are effectively integrated into project processes and aligned with business needs.
  • Support solution quality assurance activities through stakeholder reviews, user acceptance testing, validation processes, issue resolution, deployment planning, and solution readiness assessments.
  • Provide user support, training, and knowledge transfer to project teams, promoting effective use of software solutions, reporting tools, data resources, and standardized work processes.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive solution documentation, including business requirements, data definitions, reporting methodologies, process workflows, user guides, implementation records, and support transition materials.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve data management practices, reporting capabilities, workflow integration, and overall solution usability by leveraging stakeholder feedback and project performance insights.
  • Perform other duties as required.
What You Bring To Freeport
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and five (5) years related experience with a focus in capital projects, OR
  • Master's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and three (3) years related experience with a focus in capital projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, data architecture, data engineering, and BI development principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency and relevant certifications in software development methodologies, tools, and technologies, including but not limited to SQL, Python, ETL tools, BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to effectively engage with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of engineering and EPC project lifecycle processes and workflows, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, project controls, document control, progress measurement, and multi-discipline interdependencies.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges and opportunities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Technical knowledge of engineering systems, design tools, project information management, document control practices, and reporting processes.
  • Organizational skills to coordinate across cross-functional teams, manage priorities, track issues, and support delivery against defined schedules and project requirements.
  • Understanding of how engineering interacts with procurement and contracting, construction and commissioning disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and steer project teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle moderately complex problem-solving tasks, applying appropriate analysis to identify root causes, evaluate options, and recommend practical solutions.

What We Offer You 

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $97,500 - $138,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
