Casual Pharmacy Technician L1
Pharmacy
BHB ensures the highest in quality health care through service excellence, education and leadership. We seek qualified, highly motivated, and experienced professionals to work in a supportive but demanding environment.
Location: King Edward VII Memorial Hospital General
Key responsibilities include:
• Performs technical and clerical tasks under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager and/or Supervisor
• Collects/delivers orders and pharmacy supplies from the nursing units and enters orders into the pharmacy computer dispensing system
• Prepares, fills and delivers all medication orders, first doses, unit-dose cassettes, extemporaneous preparations, IV's narcotics and stock items
• Maintains all quality control records and ensures that all computer entries, manufacturing, repackaging and filling of patient specific orders are checked by a Pharmacist prior to being dispensed
• Replenishes stock on the unit-dose trolleys and in the unit-dose dispensing area
Qualifications &/ Registration required:
• High School diploma or GED
• 2 years relevant work experience preferably in a healthcare environment
• Proficient in most Microsoft applications
• Demonstrated exceptional verbal and written communication skills at all levels of an organisation
• Ability to deal with well defined procedures and perform routine, short-cycle and repetitive activities
• Must be mobile and able to walk, push, reach, stand, stair climb, bend and lift
