Position Summary: 

The Technical DevelopmentManager for CS2 / Facilities will develop and manage the skilled trades departmentto support Bemis operations in the fabrication and installation ofmanufacturing equipment as well as the daily and routine maintenance of thefacilities and support equipment. This person will establish and promote a safeand healthy working environment and drive change to reduce or eliminateindustrial accidents and hazards in compliance with OSHA regulations.

Specific Responsibilities: 

  • Drive a culture of safety, teamwork, innovation, and customer service within the CS2 department.
  • Pro-actively lead, develop, and participate in cross functional teams designed to improve the quality and effectiveness of the CS2 department and the technical trades.
  • Be responsible for the high-level prioritizing and evaluation of the team workloads and implementation needs for engineering and manufacturing projects.
  • Facilitate and assist equipment installations, coordinate maintenance of the facility assets and support systems and maintenance services that involve the coordination of contractors, multiple parties, and planned outages, and assist in executing capital projects.
  • Manage the day-to-day maintenance activities and champion the Preventive Maintenance (CMMS) management system.
  • Update and maintain PM schedules using data from the CMMS and feedback from the skilled trades and other technical resources.
  • Conduct research, analysis and interpret equipment history to assist with improving maintenance and operations processes.
  • Evaluate labor requirements, recommend staffing levels, and participate in the selection and onboarding of new personnel.
  • Supervise the apprentice programs and recommend additional training as required in partnership with HR.
  • Determine equipment needs for CS2. Source, evaluate, recommend, and execute the purchase of equipment to support the function of the CS2 department.
  • Facilitate the annual review process for the Millwright, Electrician, and Machinist trades.
