Job description

Riggs Washington DC sits on the iconic downtown corner of Penn Quarter's 9th and F Street in a historic building once home to Riggs National Bank. Each of the Hotel's 181 guest rooms offers a playful nod to the building's legacy. Riggs is home to the all-occasion European brasserie-inspired restaurant Cafe Riggs, as well as Silver Lyan - a subterranean bar from the internationally acclaimed Ryan Chetiyawardana, also known as Mr Lyan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests upon arrival and departure with a professional, friendly attitude.
  • Assist guests with loading, unloading, and transporting luggage to and from guest rooms.
  • Escort guests to their rooms and explain hotel amenities, services, and room features.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests, such as delivering packages, messages, or amenities.
  • Coordinate with the front desk, valet, concierge, and housekeeping to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming lobby and entrance area.
  • Provide directions and information about local attractions, transportation, and hotel facilities.
  • Handle guest belongings with care and maintain confidentiality and security.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service while anticipating guests' needs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous hospitality or customer service experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry luggage (typically up to 50-75 lbs.)
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of Washington, DC attractions and transportation is an advantage.

Compensation:

$17.00 - $19.00 per Hour
