Physician Assistant – Sleep Medicine

Location: Greater North Bay Area, California
Position Type: Full-Time, Outpatient
Salary: $140,000+ per year

HealthYes Staffing Network is recruiting a Family Nurse Practitioner for a growing independent outpatient specialty practice in Northern California.

This opportunity combines sleep medicine with medically supervised weight management. The Family Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with an experienced specialty physician, respiratory care professionals, sleep-lab personnel, and clinical support staff.

This is an excellent opportunity for an FNP who enjoys developing lasting patient relationships and wants to build expertise in two rapidly growing areas of medicine. Additional practice information will be shared with qualified candidates during the confidential interview process.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive sleep and medical histories
  • Evaluate patients experiencing snoring, daytime sleepiness, insomnia, abnormal sleep behaviors, and other sleep-related symptoms
  • Assess and manage obstructive and central sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome, parasomnias, circadian rhythm disorders, and hypersomnia
  • Review home sleep apnea testing and attended sleep-study results
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the physician
  • Manage positive airway pressure therapies, including CPAP and BPAP treatment and compliance
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate
  • Educate patients regarding sleep hygiene, treatment adherence, lifestyle modification, and long-term disease management
  • Provide medically supervised weight-management care, including appropriate medication management and behavioral support
  • Help patients establish realistic health, nutrition, activity, sleep, and weight-management goals
  • Coordinate care with primary care physicians, specialists, sleep technologists, and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record
  • Provide compassionate, inclusive, and judgment-free care

Qualifications

  • Master’s or doctoral degree from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current national FNP certification through the AANP or ANCC
  • Active California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses or eligibility to obtain them
  • California furnishing number and DEA registration or eligibility to obtain them
  • Outpatient clinical experience preferred
  • Experience in sleep medicine, obesity medicine, primary care, internal medicine, pulmonology, neurology, ENT, endocrinology, or weight management is highly valued
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent patient education and communication skills
  • Comfortable collaborating within a small, specialized clinical team
  • Interest in developing expertise in sleep and obesity medicine
  • Spanish-speaking ability is a plus but not required

Compensation

  • $140,000+ annual salary
