SierTeK Ltd. is seeking a Psychology Research Subject Matter Expert to support an opportunity remotely (part-time).

Position Overview 

We are an individual to support research initiatives within USAFSAM/FESP. The selected candidate will provide expertise in study design, statistical analysis, behavioral science research, and project coordination in support of human performance research objectives.

This role requires advanced analytical capabilities, strong research methodology experience, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a highly professional and secure research environment.

Essential Job Functions

Research Design & Statistical Analysis

  • Assist in the development and execution of comprehensive study protocols, including hypothesis development, research methodologies, data collection strategies, and statistical analysis plans in collaboration with USAFSAM/FESP professional staff.
  • Conduct scientific literature reviews and perform data analyses to support customer leadership and research objectives.
  • Advise USAFSAM/FESP staff regarding optimal statistical methodologies and analytical approaches for study data.
  • Perform descriptive and inferential statistical analyses using appropriate statistical software and research methodologies.
  • Assist in minimizing threats to data validity and maintaining integrity of statistical products and online data repositories.

Data Management & Research Support

  • Manage and coordinate research data processes, including acquisition, input, maintenance, storage, and electronic formatting of project data.
  • Support project teams with data collection, database maintenance, and downloading assessment data into project databases.
  • Ensure all research data and technical information are maintained securely and in compliance with IRB protocols, confidentiality requirements, and applicable safeguards.
  • Complete required IRB training and documentation associated with conducting research activities.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of screening data, technical reports, and sensitive information not approved for public release.

Reporting & Scientific Communication

  • Prepare scientific and statistical reports in support of peer-reviewed publications, technical reports, and professional presentations.
  • Coordinate with USAFSAM/FESP and 711 HPW staff to support dissemination of research findings.
  • Participate in research discussions, customer consultations, and scientific collaboration efforts.
  • Travel as required to support professional conferences, leadership meetings, research presentations, and customer engagements.

Project Coordination & Team Collaboration

  • Maintain effective communication with project personnel to facilitate collaboration and teamwork.
  • Arrange, facilitate, and participate in research team meetings, including leading recurring project meetings as needed.
  • Provide operational support for USAFSAM/FESP research activities and assist with acquisition of data supporting project goals and objectives.
  • Support additional USAFSAM/FESP-related investigations during periods of changing workload or research interruptions.

Minimum Position Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Research Psychology, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or a related Psychology discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in:
    • Database development and data management
    • Research data collection and organization
    • Statistical analysis and interpretation
    • Research report writing
    • Developing actionable recommendations to improve human performance
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience designing and conducting statistical analyses using software such as:
    • JMP
    • SPSS
    • R
    • Comparable statistical analysis tools
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience developing research outcome products, including:
    • Professional presentations
    • Peer-reviewed publications
    • Technical reports
  • Minimum of five (5) years of administrative management experience related to:
    • Study design
    • Research methodologies
    • Dissemination of empirically based human performance research results
  • Ability to maintain a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

Highly Desired Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Research Psychology, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or a related Psychology discipline preferred.
  • Master’s degree with 7+ years of directly related experience may be considered.
  • Experience supporting human performance and behavioral science research within the Department of Defense environment.
  • Experience developing and administering validated psychological assessment instruments through mobile and web-based platforms.
  • Experience authoring peer-reviewed journal articles and/or official USAF/DoD technical reports related to behavioral science and human performance research.
