Job Description:

Shift: Days, Weekends

Entry level pay starting at $26/hr.

  • Practices principles of employee and patient safety during daily job activities.

  • Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures, and other extensions of clinical expertise to the community.

  • Implements individualized treatment plans based on physical therapy evaluations and through consideration of practice standards, recommended techniques, insurance guidelines, and patient needs.

  • Modifies treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing assessments in consultation with physical therapist.

  • Collects patient data and communicates with the physical therapists regarding discharge recommendations when maximum benefit has been achieved.

  • Documents patient care accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology, following standards of practice, insurance guidelines, and department/hospital policies.

  • Charges patients accurately and timely according to CPT code format, price file, and insurance guidelines.

  • Oversees the care provided by rehabilitation aides according to established regulations and practice standards, and may involve coordinating activities of rehabilitation aides, students, and other support personnel.

  • Evaluates and interprets patient data relative to age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiological norms, modifying approaches and communication skills accordingly. Identifies the need for patient and caregiver education, utilizing opportunities for teaching and documenting understanding as appropriate.

  • Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports departmental quality standards and initiatives.

  • Maintains clinical competencies through professional development, best practices, and serving as a clinical instructor.

  • Maintains productivity standards as defined by the department and adjusts work hours to meet the needs of the patients as required. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Windows, and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak conversational English effectively.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in written, verbal, and electronic formats

Education:

  • Associate's Required

Field of Study:

  • Physical Therapy Required

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required AND

  • Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Required OR

  • Physical Therapy Assistant - TEMP (PTA-TEMP) Required
