Sample Supports is seeking a Behavior Program Manager to provide clinical and operational leadership for services supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This position oversees the assessment, development, and implementation of behavioral programming while leading the employees and contractors responsible for providing behavior services. The Behavior Program Manager balances clinical oversight, employee development, regulatory compliance, program operations, direct services, and community-based care.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Oversee the clinical and operational functions of the Behavior Services program
  • Hire, train, supervise, and manage employees and contractors throughout their employment or contract lifecycle
  • Build a positive, accountable, and team-oriented program culture
  • Monitor employee performance, service quality, documentation, and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure team members provide approved services and meet established weekly billable-hour expectations
  • Evaluate individual needs and oversee the development of behavior, treatment, safety, and support plans
  • Train and supervise team members in creating clinically accurate, professional, and comprehensive behavior plans
  • Provide consultation, resources, and ongoing training to employees, caregivers, individuals, and families
  • Deliver therapeutic and behavioral interventions related to developmental disabilities, mental health needs, and trauma histories
  • Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of behavioral recommendations
  • Maintain accurate, current, and audit-ready files for individuals, employees, and contractors
  • Conduct ongoing audits of clinical documentation, service records, billing requirements, and program files
  • Coordinate with individuals, families, guardians, case managers, advocates, state personnel, therapists, providers, and other interdisciplinary team members
  • Participate in clinical, administrative, interdisciplinary, Human Rights Committee, and court-related meetings
  • Prepare professional documentation for hearings, administrative reviews, Human Rights Committee reviews, and other required proceedings
  • Attend ongoing clinical supervision to review caseloads, treatment plans, and clinical concerns
  • Respond to emergencies and provide periodic after-hours support when needed
  • Provide direct services and coverage during absences, visits, meetings, vacations, or other program needs
  • Implement emergency and safety procedures, including trained NVCI physical interventions when necessary
  • Support program growth through meet-and-greets, referral coordination, and timely responses to requests for proposals
  • Advocate for each individual's rights, safety, preferences, quality of care, and quality of life
  • Ensure program operations comply with Sample Supports policies, HCPF, CDPHE, Colorado developmental disability standards, licensing requirements, and applicable laws

You also understand that leadership in community-based services sometimes requires stepping in directly to maintain continuity of care and support the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social services, behavioral sciences, or a related field required
  • Master's degree or professional licensure in social work, counseling, psychology, behavioral sciences, or a related field preferred
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, mental health needs, or behavioral support needs preferred
  • Experience supervising, training, or developing employees and contractors preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage program operations, competing priorities, documentation, and regulatory expectations
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be at least 18 years old and meet organizational driving requirements
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to transport individuals receiving services when needed
  • Ability to complete and maintain CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration, NVCI, and other required certifications and training
