The District Behavior Support Para Professional provides specialized support across all district schools to assist in the effective implementation of student behavior plans. This role involves working closely with educators, administrators, and student services staff to model best practices in classroom and school settings. The para professional contributes to creating safe, supportive learning environments by applying principles of positive behavior support and helping staff build capacity for effective behavior interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the consistent implementation of individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) across district schools.
  • Model best practices for staff in behavior management and positive reinforcement strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators to promote a positive school climate and support student success.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to staff on behavior support techniques.
  • Monitor and document student progress related to behavior goals.
  • Assist in the collection of behavioral data and communicate findings to the special education/student services team.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities related to behavior support, positive behavior interventions, and student services.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district policies and procedures at all times.
