Position Charter
The Technician II supports preventive maintenance activities, training, and troubleshoots/repairs equipment and facility related issues under supervision (if needed). The Technician II participates in projects and team activities and provides feedback to support updating maintenance and facility related procedures.
Maintenance Technicians perform preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance associated with the TSMD’s manufacturing equipment and systems with the goal of maximizing equipment uptime and cost efficiency. Some of the equipment includes Hydraulic Presses, Computer Numerical control (CNC), Rolling Mills, Coordinate-Measuring Machines, Electron Beam Welders, Metal Casters, and Automation Systems. Technicians use their knowledge/experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, vacuum, robotic, and programable ladder logic. Technicians create, update, and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) procedures to move toward a predictive maintenance environment.

Reporting Relationships
The Technician II reports to the Area Department Supervisor or Manager.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists on-boarding activities of new Technicians.
- Works under general supervision.
- Works on assigned equipment and preventive maintenance related work orders.
- Contributes to updating preventive maintenance procedures.
- Demonstrates flexibility of schedule when pursuing training opportunities to achieve personal and company objectives.
- Understands and adheres to all safety requirements. Communicates identified risks to leadership and assists in resolution.
- Completes all 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain) standards to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Contributes to culture through alignment with company values and code of conduct. Maintains a positive attitude, displays enthusiasm for assigned tasks, and communicates effectively and professionally with team members.
- Other related duties.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft programs: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to work effectively with different personnel throughout the workday.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of equipment and systems repair and preventive maintenance.
- Ability to document and effectively communicate the work performed.
- Advanced Beginner at understanding of tools and test equipment.
- Ability to problem-solve, troubleshooting skills, and critical thinking.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced Beginner at documenting the work performed and equipment status pass downs.
Physical Requirements
- May work from settings requiring ladders, lifts, or from the rooftop and other situations requiring exposure to heights.
- Frequent bending/twisting required.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as defined by process.
