Essential Job Functions
Position:Barista
Department:Retail (Gourmet Shop)
Primary Responsibilities: (guest interaction, ordering responsibilities, clean up duties, clerical responsibilities, etc.)
• Execute job in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures for the Barista position
• Proactively acknowledges all guest in a friendly, warm and welcoming manner
• Learn to upsell all products offered at the Coffee Bar
• Become fully knowledgeable of all coffee counter procedures and recipes
• Ability to learn product knowledge in the Gourmet Shop and the ability to discuss with guest
• Stocking the coffee bar supplies, food items, drinks and stock room
• Complete orders and pick up orders from food storeroom, pastry shop, beverage control and main kitchen daily
• Maintaining cleanliness of bar area, pastry case and floor in the Coffee Bar area
• Able to operate and understand the Point of Sale System
• Responsible for reading and understanding shop procedures
• Knowledge of how to open and close the coffee bar
• Demonstrate a ready smile, eager to please attitude with guest at all times
• Ability to work at a fast pace / stressful at times
• Ability to work in a small space with co-workers
• Provide excellent service to our Guest, members and internal customers.
Normal Working Hours: (Shift, days)
• Shop hours are 7am to 9pm
• Barista shift can vary according business to house counts
6am to 2pm, 8am to 4pm, 2pm to 9:15

Past Work Experience Requirements: (Type of work, number of years required, equivalent experience, etc.)
• Two years guest service
• Previous Barista experience preferred
• Educational Requirements: (Degree/Certification, highest required/preferred, field of study)
• High School Diploma
• Communication Skills Requirements: (Verbal: phone, in-person, group; Written: memos, documents)
• Good listener
• Ability to read and write English fluently
• Ability to communicate in a friendly, positive and professional manner
• Well spoken and able to use eye contact to carry on a professional conversation
Technical Requirements:
• Ability to use and understand Point of Sale System
• Must obtain a West Virginia Food Handler's Permit
• Ability to operate all equipment (Espresso Machine, Smoothie Blender, grinders and Coffee machines) provided at the Coffee Bar
