Job description

Description:

Join our team and make a positive impact in the lives of children every day. We are seeking an energetic, dependable, and caring individual to support our Before and After-School Program. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, creating engaging activities, and fostering a safe, supportive, and fun environment where students can learn, grow, and thrive. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, a positive role model, and a team player dedicated to helping children build confidence, friendships, and important life skills.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Demonstrate willingness to participate in all areas of the Before and After-School Program with the children
  • Responsible for a group of thirteen (13) children, helping each child adjust and grow with other children within the program guidelines.
  • Plan and implement daily curriculum for children to follow
  • Abilities to observe student behavior and assess its appropriateness, enforce relevant safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior management techniques
  • Assist with all Before and After-School Program activities and other activities as assigned
  • Maintains safety, cleanliness, and discipline of children, area and equipment

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Skills in problem solving
  • Must have excellent communicate skills and the ability to work with groups participating (age and skill level), and provide necessary instruction to children

WORK SCEHDULE:

  • 20-24 hours per week
  • Before school - 6:45am-8:30am
  • After school - 2:30pm-5:30pm


Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

  • High School Education or GED is required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain certification is required
  • Basic childcare skills required
