Job description

Childcare Staff

Job Purpose: The Childcare Staff executes the Before and After Care Private Program policies and procedures established by Casa Esperanza.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with other adults in the childcare program.
  • Collaborates with Childcare Coordinator to plan daily activities.
  • Provides written lesson plans for all activities.
  • Participates in continued professional education.
  • Prepares, implements, and clean up daily activities and projects.
  • Provides school –age homework assistance.
  • Monitor students' progress and needs.
  • Maintains facility appearance for both indoor and outdoor facilities used during program.
  • Attends staff meetings.
  • Enforces all general safety rules/ guidelines.
  • Complies with school – wide professional dress code and standards.
  • Guides behavior in a positive manner.
  • Able to work on early release days, teacher work days & Intersession childcare days (Spring & Fall).
  • Maintain the confidentiality of student information.
  • Acts to upgrade own professional knowledge and skills.
  • Take notes of observations in your class notebook and every day write an observation of at least 1 or 2 students.

Requirements:

  • Minimum one-year experience working with Pre-K and/or school age children.
  • Good Children supervisory skills.
  • Consistently interact using respectful language and tone with both children and adults.
  • Maintain a positive demeanor at all times, including redirection or disciplinary matters.
  • Excellent reference from prior employees.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of workshop activities and curriculum.
  • High School Degree, NC early childhood Credential Courses or equivalent.
  • Adults (21 years or older) Preferred.
  • Specialized Skills/ Experience: Spanish and English Fluency, both written and spoken.
