SALARY : The hourly rate for this role is 20$ per hour.

Overtime Eligibility : This position is eligible for overtime payin accordance withapplicablelabourlaws and pursuantwithcollective agreement. Overtime is paid at the legally required rate and may vary based on hours worked beyond the standard schedule.

Banded Peak Brewing is looking for a Packaging Auxiliary to join the production team. This position will be full-time and reports to the Packaging Lead.

Prior brewery or packaging experience is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate is a reliable self-starter who is comfortable working as part of a team and on their own while supporting the policies, goals and safety practices of Banded Peak Brewing.

Banded Peak Brewing started from humble beginnings with three friends opening a brewery and taproom in Calgary in May of 2016. Since then, Banded Peak has grown into a thriving brewery with a strong taproom program and distribution across the prairies. Banded Peak is a leader in innovation in styles as well as growing taproom culture in Calgary by championing the establishment of the Barley Belt, a district with Alberta's highest concentration of taprooms. Banded Peak has been a strong partner of the outdoor community in Alberta, with a passion for making adventurous beer for adventurous people.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Follow SOPs to execute brewery process according to company policy.
  • Consistently follow all guidelines and routines around safety, quality, and sanitization.
  • Execute duties efficiently in line with the packaging schedule.
  • Wrapping and organizing pallets of finished goods.
  • Strapping and organizing blank cans.
  • Keeping a tidy and organized workspace.
  • Packing cans into trays and palletizing them.
  • Inspect cans during packaging for defects/damage.
  • Washing empty kegs.
  • Palletizing full kegs.
  • Performing chemical tests using a titration kit.
  • Handling chemicals using appropriate PPE.
  • Participate and engage with other internal brewery groups as needed including R&D, Safety and QA.
  • Increase beer culture in the brewery and outside by sharing your knowledge and passion of beer.
  • Positive representation of Banded Peak at internal and external events.

Requirements:

  • A passion for craft beer
  • Flexible schedule

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience at a commercial production brewery
  • Previous warehouse experience
  • Forklift experience certification
  • Valid driver's license
