Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Chain Account Manager for our Macon, GA area to join our team at Savannah Distributing, the oldest distributor of beer, liquor, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages in the state of Georgia. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our Account Management team by providing sales and merchandising support for our Macon, GA sales routes, and responsible for maximizing sales and growing market share of supplier brands to current and potential customers within that assigned route. We are specifically looking for a local person within the Macon, GA area to fill this position.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly responsible for sales and merchandising activity within an assigned route
  • Works to grow new and existing customer base
  • Visit customers on a regular basis to sell and perform sales-related activities
  • Engage store decision maker and offer recommendations to increase ROI by displaying a line of company products
  • Assess product inventory and determine recommended sales/purchase quantities and varieties of product necessary to maintain adequate product presence
  • Upsells and introduces new products as appropriate to new and current customers
  • Identifies existing opportunities and new in-store product locations for increased product visibility and to motivate customers towards additional product purchases
  • Participates in the negotiation of product prices, location, displays, and mix
  • Solicits, processes, and instantly fulfills product orders associated with his or her sales
  • Resolve customer complaints via phone, email, or mail
  • Build professional and lasting relationships with key store management
  • Ensure chain mandates are followed according to plan-o-gram
  • Ensure limited backstock, fill shelves, build displays, rotate product, manage out-of-date product
  • Manage point-of-sale promotions
  • Monitor stock movement, consider markdowns, inter-branch transfers, promotions or clear outs
  • Grocery beer resets according to the corporate chain plan
  • Special deliveries and pick-ups
  • Collaborate with customers to create attractive sales floor displays and make sure that our product is prominently displayed
  • Assist customers in creating an organized stockroom that allows for easier product accessibility
  • Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable transportation
  • Other duties as needed

Qualifications:

*Candidates without the required experience will not be considered*

  • On/Off-premise Experience w/ beer, wine, and liquor preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of Industry or Restaurant experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of sales experience Preferred
  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and excellent time management skills
  • PC skills with Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and transportation
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug test

Travel:

  • Position is remote, but candidate must be able to travel a minimum of 60% of the time.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to work in a team-oriented, professional and fast-paced environment. Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery. Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift from 15 to 80 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, physical and drug screen.
