We are looking for a Beautician to join our Recreation department - a hands-on, supportive, caring, and passionate team player who moves the department forward.

Minimum Qualifications Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice cosmetology plus six months experience as a licensed cosmetologist. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: Participates in the operation of a beauty shop, cutting and shampooing hair, giving scalp and hair treatments, permanents, manicures, and other beauty treatments. Requisition supplies and materials as needed for the operation of the beauty shop. Keeps the beauty shop in sanitary condition and maintain Safety Data Sheets.

Sterilizes equipment after use and maintains tools in good working condition. Maintains an accurate count of various procedures performed on clients/residents for reporting purposes. Instructs clients/residents in elementary beauty care and good grooming.

May supervise clients/residents or volunteers in the activities of a beauty shop. Position-Specific Details: Location: Recreation Department of LDH/OAAS/Villa Feliciana Medical Complex, Jackson, Louisiana. Appointment Type: This position may be filled by a probation or a promotion of a permanent state employee.
