Job description

Adventure Reservations Coordinator โ€“ Alaska Experiences

Full-Time | Seward, Alaska

Overview

If you love connecting people with adventure, this is where it starts. Kenai Backcountry Adventures (KBA) is seeking an Adventure Reservations Coordinator to join our Seward-based operations team. In this role, you'll be the first voice our guests hear โ€” helping them plan life-changing experiences across Alaska's wildest landscapes. This is a fast-paced, dynamic position for someone who thrives on details, communication, and a sense of purpose in every interaction.

About Us

At KBA, we don't just sell tours โ€” we deliver transformational wilderness experiences. From glacier treks and bear viewing to multi-day expeditions, we're Alaska's trusted adventure specialists, known for professionalism, authenticity, and heart. Our Seward office is the hub that makes it all happen โ€” where logistics meet storytelling, and every reservation becomes the start of an unforgettable journey.

The Role

As an Adventure Reservations Coordinator, you'll help guests choose the perfect trip, manage bookings, and keep operations running smoothly. You'll work closely with our guides and management team to ensure every adventure is seamless โ€” from first inquiry to final farewell.

You'll also play a key part in the daily rhythm of the company โ€” assisting with guest communication, digital systems, and occasionally supporting in-field logistics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Experience: Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and chat; guide guests toward the best-fit adventure experiences.
  • Reservation Management: Handle bookings, cancellations, and adjustments across multiple platforms with accuracy and care.
  • Operational Support: Assist with scheduling, confirmations, and pre-trip coordination between guides and clients.
  • Administrative Excellence: Maintain organized records, handle payments, and support day-to-day office operations.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate with field and management teams to ensure smooth communication and customer satisfaction.
  • On-the-Ground Flexibility: Support field logistics when needed โ€” helping with check-ins, gear prep, or transportation coordination.
What You Bring
  • Experience: Prior office, admin, or customer service experience (adventure or hospitality industry preferred)
  • Communication Skills: Clear, friendly, and confident โ€” both written and verbal
  • Organization: Strong multitasking and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with CRM systems, spreadsheets, and reservation platforms
  • Mindset: Positive, flexible, solution-oriented, and dependable under pressure
  • Bonus: Experience in tourism, sales, or outdoor recreation operations
Compensation

Competitive seasonal or full-time wage, based on experience and role responsibilities. Opportunities for year-round employment and advancement within KBA's growing adventure brand.

Benefits & Perks Core Benefits
  • Retirement Plans: 401(k) with company match and IRA options
  • Paid Time Off: Earned vacation and sick time to recharge and explore Alaska
  • Financial Wellness Tools: Manage pay, savings, and budgeting in one secure mobile platform โ€” get paid early, save automatically, and track your financial health.
Adventure & Lifestyle Perks
  • Adventure Perks: Complimentary or discounted KBA tours and exclusive pro deals on outdoor gear
  • Company Trips & Team Outings: Experience Alaska's wildest places with your team
  • Staff Housing: Limited employee housing available in Seward at reduced rates (first-come, first-served)
  • Career Growth: Training, mentorship, and advancement opportunities within a growing Alaska adventure company
Why Join KBA
  • Be the bridge between guests and Alaska's most unforgettable experiences
  • Work with a passionate team that lives and breathes adventure
  • Grow your skills in tourism operations, logistics, and guest experience
  • Join one of Alaska's most respected and safety-driven adventure brands

This isn't a typical front desk job โ€” it's your chance to be part of something bigger, helping people discover the wild beauty of Alaska.

How to Apply

Submit your resume and a short cover letter telling us why you're drawn to Alaska adventure tourism and how your skills align with this role.

Kenai Backcountry Adventures is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
