Job description

Position Description

Perform a variety of daily & weekly tasks ranging from metal & plastic machined part finishing, assembly, packaging, shipment, delivery/pickup, material handling, loading and unloading. This position performs additional general manual labor tasks as required. Reports to the Production Manager. Regular Day Shift Mo-Fr 7:00am-3:30pm.

Responsibilities

  • Finishing – remove tool marks, sharp edges & burrs using deburr tools, orbital sanders, bead blast and other processes to finish parts to specified requirements.
  • Assembly – install pins, helical or key locking inserts using hand tools following work instructions.
  • Clean & Package – remove cutting fluids & debris from parts using ultrasonic cleaning equipment. Count, individually or bulk package parts, and prepare for shipment or delivery.
  • Deliver/Pickup, Material Handling, Load/Unload – ability and willingness to safely make delivery/pickup between facilities, customers, and vendors using company’s light truck (Ford F150 pickup) as required. Following forklift training & certification, load/unload trucks. Prepare materials for CNC machining. Cut material to specified size using band saw.
  • Ensure that standard procedures are followed in all aspects of work including tool setup and operation, process verification, product inspection, documentation, and material handling.
  • Communicate manufacturing issues to identify and pro-actively improve product quality.
  • Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow established quality, maintenance, and safety standards.

Requirements

  • 0 - 5 years previous experience in manufacturing and machining. Experience using required tools and processes desirable. Ability to stand, sit, pivot, lift, carry (typically <25lbs, up to 50lbs).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow safety rules and procedures relating to quality, operation and maintenance.
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills. Organization and time management skills.
  • Able to interface with company personnel.
  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Requires a CA driver’s license with an incident free driving record.
  • US Person (citizen or Green Card holder).
