Overview
Position Purpose: The Underwriter must believe in, practice, and initiate all Green Brick Partners values set forth in an acronym we call HOME. They must be Honest, Objective, Mature and Efficient in how they approach their role at Green Brick Partners.
Green Brick Mortgage is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team in Plano, TX. As an Underwriter, you will evaluate and approve loan applications based on company standards and regulatory guidelines, ensuring the quality and profitability of the loans.
Responsibilities
• Review and analyze loan applications and supporting documentation.
• Assess borrower creditworthiness and risk.
• Ensure loans meet company and regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate underwriting decisions and conditions to Loan Officers and Processors.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve loan issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and company policies.
Supervision of Others: N/A
Authority/Budget/Decision Making/Discretion and Independent Judgment Ability:
Utilizes discretion, judgment, and high-level analytical skills to interpret complex situations.
Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field.
Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of mortgage lending regulations and guidelines.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Effective communication skills.
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mortgage underwriting.
