Job description

Title: Chemical Engineering
Location: Highway 77 South, Bishop, TX 78343
Pay Rate: 20/HR
Must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree or working towards a bachelor's. Manager is ok with higher level degrees such as Masters and PhD's.
Engineering degree is preferred but will accept candidates with Chemistry or Biotechnology degrees. Degrees in art or business administration will not be considered.
Your Formula for Success

Responsibilities:
You will be provided with an on-site mentor from our Bishop site which will also ensure compliance with B and national standards.
1) Perform overfill evaluation for tanks in two units of the Bishop site under supervision and lead the final team meeting to agree on the performed classification.
This will expose you to:
a. Safety data sheets of chemicals and identifying their safety potential,
b. Reviewing different overfill prevention strategies and their instrumentation,
c. Understanding of the underlying processes of the production unit,
d. Perform risk evaluations from a process safety, ecological and economical aspect.
2) Execute and lead minor process changes in our production unit under supervision. Thereby, you will gain an understanding of the management of change process and all the associated steps from idea to execution in the plant.
In this process you will learn:
a. Read, update and make changes to P&IDs,
b. Interaction between engineers, maintenance and operations,
c. Perform design calculations for pressure drop, restrictive orifice or pressure relief scenarios
