Are you looking for a career where you can make a meaningful difference in the lives of Idaho youth? State Hospital West (SHW) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Therapist Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) to join the interdisciplinary treatment team. SHW in Nampa is a 16-bed psychiatric hospital that provides intensive inpatient mental health treatment to adolescents aged 12-17 experiencing serious emotional and behavioral health challenges. As a Therapist Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA), you will utilize the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized behavior intervention plans while collaborating with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, educators, psychiatric technicians, and other treatment professionals. This position plays a vital role in helping youth develop skills that improve safety, emotional regulation, and successful community reintegration. The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments and behavioral evaluations.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and revise individualized Behavior Intervention Plans.
  • Analyze behavioral data and make evidence-based treatment recommendations.
  • Provide consultation and coaching to multidisciplinary treatment team members on behavioral interventions and best practices.
  • Participate in treatment planning meetings and collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, nursing staff, social workers, educators, and direct care staff.
  • Provide staff training regarding behavioral strategies, positive behavior support, crisis prevention, and behavior management techniques.
  • Ensure behavioral interventions comply with ethical standards, hospital policies, accreditation requirements, and applicable laws.
  • Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust interventions based on measurable outcomes.
  • Complete clinical documentation in accordance with agency standards and timelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support a trauma-informed treatment environment.
  • Maintain certification and continuing education requirements as required by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume or work history supports your meeting the minimum qualifications for this position. Failure to do this may disqualify you from being considered for this position. It is highly recommended to attach a one-page cover letter to your application to demonstrate how you meet the requirements below.
  • Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in accordance with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants.
  • Experience working with adolescents with complex behavioral health needs in a clinical setting. Typically gained by at least one (1) year of experience providing direct behavioral health services to adolescents with complex mental health, behavioral, or emotional needs in an inpatient psychiatric hospital, residential treatment facility, community mental health program, or other clinical setting.
