JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: BCBA Apprentice
REPORTS TO: BCBA(s), Clinical Director
REVISED: July, 2022
Job Summary: Responsible for ensuring implementation of ABA therapy services in accordance with best clinical practices. This position is only for BCBA students who are working towards their Master's Degree and are completing their hours needed to sit for BCBA Certification. It is mandatory that a BCBA Certification is completed within 6 months. If not, the BCBA Apprentice will be moved back into a RBT position. This is a Salary Exempt position.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
  1. Within 4 months completion of Master's degree in applied behavior analysis, psychology, education / special education, or a related field
  2. Less than 480 total restricted/unrestricted hours remaining to sit for exam.
  3. Current / ability to obtain Behavior Analyst Licensure and Certification within 5 months.
  4. At least two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavior disorders
  5. Experience in behavioral assessment and treatment
  6. Excellent time management and organizational skills
  7. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  8. Experience with children on the autism spectrum
  9. Possess a Valid Driver's license

Responsibilities/essential functions: The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
  1. Clinical Services
  2. Responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive behavioral assessments and behavioral treatment programs for children, their families, and their community caregivers
  3. Manage coordination of case management activities
  4. Provide training to parents and caregivers to implement treatment programs
  5. Responsible for providing clinical appropriate supervision and training of clinical staff and trainees.
  6. Ability to travel independently to clients' homes and other community locations, if needed.
  7. Required to bill as a RBT at least 50% of your work week as a RBT.
  8. Required to assist other BCBA(s) with oversight of their clients at their discretion.

  1. Consultation Services
  2. Responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive behavioral assessment and behavioral treatment programs in school, home, and community settings
  3. Conduct functional behavior assessments
  4. Provide consultative services to parents, teachers, and other clinical/educational personnel
  5. Provide staff training as needed and new hire training as needed.
  6. Responsible for coordination of home and school communication regarding treatment program
  7. Organize, facilitate and lead treatment team meetings

  1. Administrative
  2. Effective and timely documentation skills
  3. Timely completion all paperwork and phone contacts to caregivers, funding sources, outside agencies and schools (as appropriate) regarding treatment and development of treatment plans, goals, and objectives

  1. Professional Conduct
  2. Establish effective clinical and ethical relationships with clients and families, and maintain appropriate boundaries
  3. Establish and maintain professional and ethical working relationships with staff and in collaborations with funding sources, community agencies, schools, medical practices, and other therapy providers

Salary: $41,600 annually
PTO: Up to 15 days of PTO per year, accrued weekly
BCBA Salary: $65,000 annually upon successfully passing your BCBA exam.
  • Exam Fee Reimbursement: Adapt For Life will reimburse employee for Exam Fee and Certification Application upon successful passing of BCBA exam. If employee fails to pass their exam, Adapt For Life will not reimburse the employee for exam fee.

Failure to Pass Exam: If employee fails to pass their exam, Adapt For Life reserves the right to revoke contingent BCBA offer.
