Neonatologist Opportunity - Help Build a Brand-New NICU in Central Florida

Responsibilities

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Neonatologist to join our nationally recognized neonatology team at Orlando Health South Lake Hospital in Clermont, FL. 

About Orlando Health South Lake Hospital

  • Founded in 1947, South Lake Hospital is committed to serving the community and promoting healthy lifestyles.
  • 180 acre Wellness and Education campus

The NICU & Practice Opportunity

This brand new Level II NICU is designed for growth and supported by an established regional network. 

  • Projected NICU average daily census of 5-6 by year-end
  • Newborn nursery ADC of 6-7
  • ~2,000 annual deliveries
  • Support from Pediatrix's flagship Level IV NICU at Winnie Palmer Hospital (142 beds)
  • A collaborative care model with Neonatologists, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs), and Pediatric Hospitalists
  • On-call response time: within 30 minutes
  • Neonatologist schedule: 12-14 shifts (24-hour) per month, based on a combined in-house daytime and on-call evenings/weekends model
  • NNP staffing: 24-hour shifts, providing balanced coverage and continuity 
  • Opportunity to rotate through the Level IV NICU at Winnie Palmer in Orlando
