Location: We are seeking an experienced Cook 1 for the BC Place Stadium.

Sodexo Live! is the Official Supplier of Food and Beverage Services to BC Place Stadium. BC Place is a multi-purpose stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Located at the north side of False Creek, it is owned and operated by the BC Pavilion Corporation, a Crown corporation of the province. Home to BC Lions, Vancouver White Caps, Concerts and Live events, the facility hosts welcomes hundreds of thousands of fans each year, while generating significant economic activity for the Province.

Job Overview:

The Cook 1 is a key member of the BC Place culinary team, responsible for skilled food preparation, cooking, and presentation for events ranging from large-scale concessions to premium hospitality. This role supports menu execution across multiple kitchens and outlets, ensuring consistency, high quality, and adherence to food safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Execute a wide range of culinary tasks including grilling, roasting, sauteing, and batch cooking following standard recipes and specifications.
  • Maintain accurate production levels for events, managing timing and workflow to meet service demands
  • Conduct quality checks for taste, temperature, and presentation before service
  • Set up and maintain an organized, clean Mise en Place on assigned stations.
  • Support operations in concession, VIP clubs, suits, banquets, and activations as needed.
  • Follow run sheets, production lists, and plating guides with precision.
  • Communicate afflictively with supervisors and colleagues in high-pressure periods
  • Uphold Food Safe Level 1 compliance at all times, practicing safe food handling, storage, and labelling procedures
  • Follow cleaning and sanitizing schedules for kitchen equipment, tools, and workspaces
  • Ensure proper use and care of kitchen machinery and report any maintenance needs.
  • Follow FIFO and product rotation standards
  • Minimize waste while maximizing yield
  • Assist with receiving, checking, and storing deliveries

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Cooking experience in hotel, banquet, stadium, or high-volume environments preferred
  • Demonstrated competency across multiple cooking stations
  • Valid Food Safe Level 1 or ability to obtain before start
  • Strong understanding of high-volume production, hot holding, and batch cooking
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment – standing for long periods, lifting 25-40lbs, handling hot/cold environments
  • Flexible schedule availability for large event operations (evenings/weekends/holidays)
  • Must be available to work 3 prep days prior to an event, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be available to work all Mandatory & High Impact Events

Other Requirements:

  • Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly-quartered environment.
  • Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
